The city of Caracas, to an
average altitude of 900 meters above sea level, is
located in a Valley that extends from east to west,
with a longitude of approximately 25 kilometers, and
4 to 5 kilometers in it widest part; these dimensions
have been overcome, however for the intense urban
expansion that has allowed the construction of housings
in the hills that surround the beautiful Valley.

The Coastline Mountain Range separates
Caracas from the area of the Caribbean Sea, and between
the beach and the Valley the majestic of the Avila
Mountain appears to the north, dominated by the peaks
that form the "Seat of Caracas", with its
highest point the Naiguatá peak with 2.765
meters above sea level.
The Guaire River runs through of the Valley constituting
the main road of natural drainage and it is part of
the basin of the Tuy River. The Guaire is crossed
by numerous streams whose waters pour finally the
Caribbean Sea.
