Located at the Western
extreme of the Southamerican Continent, it
is a long and narrow territory, about 4300
kms of Coast, between the The Andes and The
Coastline Mountain Range.
Its Continental Surface is 756.096 kms2, plus
1.250.000 kms2 Antartica, together with the
territory of Easter Island, Juan Fernandez
Archipel and Chiloé Island to the South.
Because of its extension we have a diversity
of climates all over the country in addition
to a diverse vegetation.
To the north we have barren regions such as
the Atacama Desert, the most arid of the world,
this is a region with a little rain during
the year, high day temperatures during the
whole year and low night temperatures.
At the central region, the area of Santiago,
we have the four seasons, a Mediteranean climate.
This region is basically dedicated to the
agriculture, the capital of the country, Santiago
is located in this area as well.
To the South starting at the Lakes Region
the temperatures are lower during the summer
( 9 ° C) and cold during the winter
( - °C ). In this area we find our Native
Forest composed by milenary trees, such
as our National tree the Araucaria ( Monkey
Puzzle Tree) and The Fitzroy Tree.
Ending at the Glaciers Area, The Patagonia.
