Wineries
at the Central Valley
Another interesting
place to visit is the Wineries at the Central
Valley. Few countries in the world have these
conditions to produce wine.
The soft ocean
breezes, the impressive Andes mountains,
perfectly balanced soil components and clean
mountain rivers, create an ideal micro-climate
for cultivating the noblest French stock.
|
|
These and many other reasons have attract
new investors, who applying top technology
have gotten the very best quality in their
vintages.

Colchagua
Valley
|
|
Colchagua
Valley History dates back to many decades
before the Spanish Colonization, where the
ancient inhabitants were the Chiquillanes.
These were the bravest among the Mapuche tribe,
they covered their bodies with Guanaco leather
This tribe was conquered by the Incas, who
were the first who developed an irrigation
system and started with the agriculture. |
|
The superior quality of the wines produced in
this Valley is given by the climate of Colchagua.
|
With the four seasons really well marked,
its geography, the influence of the
Ocean Breeze and the winds coming over
the Andes, generate an ideal condition,
specially during the summer months (April
- November), when we get about 22°C
difference between day and night. These
conditions help the grapes rippen slowly
giving them stronger aromas and flavours. |
